Each Day, One Frame, Looking Forward.
Looking Forward: 365 is a year-long photographic project beginning 7 October 2026, exploring attention, presence and the experience of noticing everyday life.
The project emerged from a recognition that my photography had gradually become connected to sharing, explaining and being witnessed by others. I wanted to return to a more instinctive relationship with the camera: to photograph because something caught my attention, without needing the image to have an audience or purpose beyond the act of seeing.
For 365 consecutive days, I will make one photograph of something that causes me to stop and look. The subject matter is deliberately unrestricted. People, landscape, light, humour, isolation, connection, domestic life and overlooked details are all allowed to enter the work. The images do not need to be technically perfect or conventionally beautiful. What matters is that something made me notice.
Alongside each photograph, I record a brief reflection on what drew my attention, what I felt in response, what I am looking forward to, and what I choose to carry with me from that day. These reflections form a parallel record of the person behind the camera as the year unfolds.
The repetition of making one image each day transforms photography into both observation and practice. Over time, I am interested in discovering what patterns emerge: what I repeatedly notice, what I overlook, how my visual language changes, and whether the things that hold my attention change with me.
I don't know what the completed collection will look like.
That uncertainty is an essential part of the work.
Looking Forward: 365 is not an attempt to photograph where I have been. It is an invitation to remain present to where I am, while keeping my eyes open to what comes next.
