Week Two.
No expectations and no predetermined subjects. Just the beginning of a daily practice: one photograph, one moment, one day at a time.
October is the starting point from which the rest of the year unfolds.
Day 8 | Wednesday 14 October 2026
Holding on, Somehow
While wandering around my garden, I noticed that one of my pot plants had fallen over and become entangled with the greenery growing rather chaotically around the stand beside my water tank. Instead of giving way, it had somehow found a way to hold on amongst everything else.

I stood looking at it for a while, feeling a strange sense of understanding. Life has been extremely chaotic for me lately, and there have been times when I've felt completely tipped off balance, just trying to find something to hold on to while everything around me seems to be changing.

Looking at this little plant, I couldn't help but see something of myself in it. Things haven't always gone the way I'd hoped, and I've had to find my own ways of getting through some difficult moments. I suppose we all experience times like that in life.

I'm looking forward to finding a little more balance in my own life, and perhaps learning to be more accepting of the times when things don't quite go to plan.
Taking Forward: Adaptability
Day 9 | Thursday 15 October 2026
Failed Mail Delivery
Today while walking around a neighbouring town, I noticed a derelict shop had a mail delivered, that no one seemed to want to claim, it had been sitting there for quite some time.

I brought up a sense of loss and I felt a strange emptiness come over me.

I am now looking forward to reaching out to friends that have drifted slightly from my immediate daily life.

Taking Forward: Friendships
Day 10 | Friday 16 October 2026
Willow Lake
I loved how the shadows on the platform caught my eye. It stopped me on my walk and made me take in the whole scene.

It felt very rewarding to notice something I would normally dismiss and to stop and take in the scene properly.
Taking Forward: The Bigger Picture
Day 11 | Saturday 17 October 2026
Making Waves
This beautiful pattern caught my eye in the water dancing around and twirling like a ballerina in the wind.

I felt a strange sense of comfort, watching the scene unfold, it was extremely relaxing

I am looking forward to more relaxing moments.
Taking Forward: Relaxation
Day 11 | Sunday 18 October 2026
Standing Tall
This little guy caught my attention when I was wandering around our local lake, his bright orange colour jumped out amongst the green.

I felt like a giant, leaning over him to inspect and then photograph him.

I am looking forward to the little things in life, the almost missed moments, the insignificant until it isn't - surprises.
Taking Forward: Presence
The Moments In Between
Not every photograph finds its way into my daily reflections, but there are always other little moments that catch my eye along the way. Here are a few more things I noticed, enjoyed or simply wanted to remember from this week.
